Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of current Orthopedic RN or Medical-Surgical experience in a hospital setting
• BLS certification required
• Ortho/Spine nursing experience preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented approach
• Energetic, empathetic, and able to contribute to a collaborative orthopedic care unit

Orthopedic Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to orthopedic and neuro patients recovering from surgery
• Monitor patient status, respond to changing conditions, and support safe recovery
• Care for patients undergoing total joint procedures, including knee, hip, and shoulder cases
• Assist with spine surgery patient care as needed
• Work closely with charge nurses, techs, and the broader healthcare team to maintain efficient unit flow
• Use clinical tools and equipment such as immobilizers, braces, and cold therapy supports
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while contributing to a strong unit culture
