Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a night shift assignment requiring Trauma Level I, vascular, neuro, and orthopedic surgical experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in the Operating Room department
• 277 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15) with variable start times of 7:00 and 9:00
• Weekend shifts required
• May need to cover one additional night shift within the contract as needed
• On-call required, distributed equally among nursing staff every 6 weeks (up to 6-8 shifts including nights, evenings, and weekends)
• Floating required between like units and sister facilities
• Epic EMR used
• OR, Endo, L&D, and PACU scrubs provided
• Free parking available

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, compact license must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required, 5 years preferred
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience in vascular, neuro, orthopedic/spine, general surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, plastics, bariatric, thoracic, and podiatry procedures
• Experience with trauma cases including gunshot/stab wounds, MVAs, and amputations
• Experience with robotic surgery systems (Da Vinci Xi) preferred
• Experience with cell saver and Hana Table equipment preferred
• Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol procedures
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and scrub RN duties across a wide range of surgical specialties
• Work within a Trauma Level I designated facility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO must be submitted upfront at time of consideration; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, at a lower bill rate
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities as a permanent, travel, or per-diem employee
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
