Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a DC RN license and specialized surgical skills for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule (4x12 hours), with shift options of 6:00-18:00 or 11:00-23:00
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• On-call requirement of 6 calls per 6-week schedule
• Weekend requirement of 1 weekend shift per 6-week schedule
• Scrub color required: ceil blue

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required; pending DC license accepted with proof of pending status, but must be in hand prior to start date
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience within the last 7 years required
• At least 1 previous travel assignment required for consideration
• Skills required in General OR, Bariatrics, ENT, Neurology, Orthopedic, and Urology procedures
• Experience with specialized procedures including total joints, spine, craniotomy, free flaps, cytoreduction, and bariatric surgery preferred
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and/or scrub duties across a broad range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, ENT, urology, plastics, and bariatrics
• Flu vaccine required by the facility for all employees
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a local rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Manager interviews are not guaranteed; candidates should be comfortable proceeding without one
