Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with Level 1 Trauma experience for a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring strong scrub and circulate skills.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 6:30am-3:00pm, no block scheduling
• Call requirement of one weekend shift per month (7a-7p or 7p-7a), no weekday call
• Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per month)
• Mandatory float facility - floating required across units within specialty and occasionally outside primary competency, supported by a team-based care model
• May be required to float to other facilities within a 50-mile radius with as little as 2 hours notice
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration, no pending licenses accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Level 2 Trauma experience preferred
• Strong scrub and circulate skills required in Orthopedics, Trauma, Vascular, and Neurology
• Scrub experience in other surgical areas preferred
• Two professional references required from supervisors within the past 2 years, from most recent employers
• Proof of COVID vaccination required, booster not required

Additional Information

• Perform scrub and circulate duties for General OR, Trauma, Orthopedic, Neurology, and Vascular surgeries
• Navy blue scrubs provided
• RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days, no RTO on weekends
• No holiday RTO and no RTO the day before or after a holiday
• Local candidates accepted and preferred if residing within 75 miles of the facility, at a reduced local rate
• Returning resources must undergo full recredentialing and re-attend orientation, even if the break in contract was less than 30 days
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered given Level 1 Trauma experience
