Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma experience for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment requiring on-call availability.

Details

• Operating Room setting within a short-term acute care hospital, Core 3 & 4
• Handles General, Plastic, GYN, ENT, trauma, Neuro, Orthopedic, GU, and Colorectal Robotics cases
• Average daily census of 70-80 patients across 21 rooms
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 11:00-21:30
• On-call required: 6 call shifts within a 6-week period, which can vary
• Floating required within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Cerner charting system used
• Circulating duties required, scrub duties preferred
• Must be well-rounded and current in most OR specialties except CV & Transplant

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required (2 years acceptable with at least 1 year Level I trauma experience)
• Level I trauma experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Graduated from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide circulating and scrub support across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, gynecologic, neurologic, orthopedic, urologic, and robotic-assisted procedures
• Scrubs provided by facility

• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• No block scheduling available
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted at a lower pay package
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a break to reset eligibility: 90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents
