Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room for a teaching hospital surgical services role requiring circulating experience across multiple specialties and DaVinci robotics.

Details

• Operating Room unit within an academic teaching hospital, 24 beds with average census of 70-80
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (10:45 AM-9:15 PM), Monday-Friday
• Call requirement of 40-60 hours within a 6-week schedule
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Uses DaVinci Xi Surgical System and other specialized OR equipment including cell saver, electrosurgical units, and Hana Table
• Floating required to other hospital units or nearby affiliate hospitals for all travelers

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of circulating OR experience within the last 3 years
• Experience required in General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection procedures
• Charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and academic health center experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Nursing degree must be from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Circulate for a wide range of surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, gynecologic, thoracic, ENT, oral, urologic, plastics, and robotic-assisted surgeries
• High acuity, complex cancer-related care environment within an academic health center
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• In-state (Indiana) residents are considered local and accepted for this Surgical Services role at the local pay package
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment anywhere within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
