Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• At least 1 year of operating room nursing experience required
• CNOR strongly preferred
• ACLS required upon hire, or active BLS with AHA ACLS obtained within 60 days of hire
• Strong communication, multitasking, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment with competing priorities

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical experience
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare team members
• Maintain sterile technique, aseptic practice, and proper handling of instruments and supplies
• Verify patient identity, consent, procedure, and surgical site before transport to the operating room
• Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and body mechanics during procedures
• Monitor sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to policy
• Administer medications and IV therapy per orders, protocols, and procedures
• Perform patient assessments, pain reassessments, documentation, and handoff reporting
• Identify specimens and cultures accurately and ensure proper handling
• Support patient safety, infection prevention, and compliance with established standards
