Description

American Traveler is hiring a Circulating RN for an Operating Room position requiring OR circulating experience and compact or LA RN licensure.

Details

  • Circulating role only within a hospital Operating Room setting
  • Mixed patient population including limited Pediatric (ortho only), Adult, and Geriatric cases
  • Primary campus performs Ortho (Mako total knees/hips, gamma nails), Podiatry, Hand, Spine/Crani, General, and Urology procedures
  • Float campus performs Pain, ENT (including pediatric), Urology, Gynecology, Podiatry, General, and some Ortho cases
  • 1:1 nurse to patient ratio
  • Mids shift, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • On-call required 1-2 times per week and every 3rd weekend (Friday-Sunday)
  • Floating required between two campuses within the OR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (LA state or compact) required
  • BLS certification required
  • BSN preferred
  • 1 year of related OR nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Administers medications and treatments and monitors for effectiveness and side effects
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
  • Delegates and makes care assignments to other providers as needed
  • Must be separated at least 6 months from any prior non-travel employment at a CHRISTUS facility system-wide before being eligible for this assignment
