Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Epic experience and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Details

  • Hospital-based Operating Room/Surgery unit
  • Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Case mix includes pain management (injections/kyphoplasty), ENT, urology, gynecology, podiatry, general surgery, and some orthopedics
  • L&D is a separate unit, so no C-sections or deliveries are performed
  • 1:1 nurse to patient ratio
  • Day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
  • On-call or late call required 1-3 times per week
  • Weekend on-call required every 3rd to 4th weekend (Friday-Sunday)
  • Floating required between two campus locations within the OR department
  • Epic EMR used

Requirements

  • Active RN license in LA or compact
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification via AHA required
  • 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred
  • BSN preferred
  • Epic experience required

Additional Information

  • Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for surgical patients
  • Administers medications and treatments according to protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
  • Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
  • Scrubs provided
  • Temp to perm conversion is a possibility
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
  • Candidates previously employed at any CHRISTUS facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment
