Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Operating Room position requiring Level I Trauma experience and Cerner charting familiarity.

Details

• Operating Room setting within a Short-Term Acute Care hospital
• Core 3 & 4 unit covering General, Plastic, GYN, ENT, Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, GU, and Colorectal Robotics cases
• Average daily census of 70-80 patients across 21 rooms
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 11:00-23:30
• On-call requirement of 6 call shifts within a 6 week period
• Circulating duties required, scrub duties preferred
• Floating required within scope to other service areas as needed, excluding CV and Transplant
• Cerner charting system used

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required, or 2 years with at least 1 year of Level I Trauma experience
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Experience with a broad range of surgical specialties including Gynecology, Neurology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, ENT, and Robotics (Da Vinci Xi preferred)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 supervisor references required

• Provide circulating and scrub support for a high-volume, multi-specialty surgical unit
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

• Floating required to hospital units or nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted at a reduced pay package for this Surgical Services position
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have completed 12 months of employment within IU Health must take a designated break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
