Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a minimum of 4 years of OR experience including Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic cases.

Details

  • Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
  • Service lines include Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
  • Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Variable weekend and call requirements to be discussed during interview
  • Floating required within facility/scope of practice and to Outpatient as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 4 years Operating Room experience required prior to travel
  • Required specialty experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic procedures
  • Experience with procedures including ALIF, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, and XLIF
  • Experience with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, and thyroidectomy
  • Experience with GYN procedures including hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, and D&C
  • Experience with orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy, fracture reduction, and total joint replacement
  • Transplant experience including intestinal, kidney, liver, organ donation, and pancreas cases preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Previous travel experience required
  • Unit does not accept first-time travelers
  • Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide perioperative nursing care across multiple surgical specialties in a high-acuity OR setting
  • Candidates deemed clinically qualified will undergo a facility clinical screening prior to manager review
  • Full compliance required by required deadlines to avoid a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, all RTO must be finalized at time of consideration
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week
  • No holiday RTO approved for blackout dates in November and December
  • Holiday coverage required, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
  • Limited holiday RTO consideration only if three major holidays fall within the assignment period
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • Previous employees must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers who cancel or receive a Do Not Return must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
