Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position in a cancer research hospital setting, requiring OH or compact RN licensure and CNOR certification preferred.

Details

  • Operating Room unit within a cancer hospital and research center
  • Day/evening rotating schedule combining 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts to total 40 hrs/week
  • Shift options include 06:30-17:00, 06:30-19:00, and 10:30-20:30, Monday through Friday
  • Call required as needed, with staff typically signing up for 2-3 calls per 4-week schedule period
  • Weekend shifts required as needed
  • EPIC charting system experience required
  • Preferred experience across neuro, thoracic, ENT, ortho, general, plastics, urology, GU/GYN, free flap, and robotic (Da Vinci) surgeries
  • Preferred experience in oncology surgical procedures

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required, with oncology experience required
  • Circulate and scrub experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Travel RN experience required
  • 2 professional references required, including at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and one from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide circulating and scrub support across a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, general surgery, neurology, thoracic, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and robotics
  • Maintain accurate patient records using EPIC
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal surgical outcomes
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing contract, as this is a required step for state credentialing
  • Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • RTO required at time of consideration and must be built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignments after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at this health system
