Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
  • May be required to float to other units
  • High volume facility with 200-300+ births per month

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
  • AWHONN Advanced certification required (NCC C-EFM accepted in lieu)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • IV start and IV therapy skills required
  • Experience with central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) preferred
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, including at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
  • Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and baby catching
  • Support high-risk antepartum patients and manage conditions such as pregnancy-induced hypertension and postpartum hemorrhage
  • Circulate and recover C-section patients and assist with surgical cases such as cervical cerclage and tubal ligation
  • Utilize fetal monitoring including external and internal EFM, IUPC placement, and spiral electrode placement
  • Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin
  • Provide lactation and breastfeeding support as part of postpartum care
  • Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract
  • Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
  • RTO must be requested and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current employees are ineligible to work as travelers at this health system
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
