Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a major academic cancer hospital in Ohio, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and oncology background.

Details

  • General OR setting within a large academic cancer hospital
  • Surgical specialties include neuro, thoracic, ENT, orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, GU/GYN, free flaps, and robotics (Da Vinci SP and Xi systems)
  • Day/evening rotating schedule with a combination of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week
  • Shift options run between 06:30–20:30, Monday through Friday
  • On-call responsibilities required, including evening (15:00–23:00), night (23:00–07:00), and weekend (07:00–19:00 / 19:00–07:00) call shifts
  • Weekend work required as needed
  • EMR: Epic (required)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required
  • Certifications required: BLS; ACLS and CNOR preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
  • Oncology experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Circulate and scrub experience preferred
  • Experience in neuro, thoracic, ENT, ortho, general surgery, plastics, urology, GU/GYN, free flaps, and/or robotics (Da Vinci) preferred
  • Teaching/academic hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; no coworker references accepted

  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and built into the contract; RTO is limited to 7 days or fewer

  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
