Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of general surgery circulating and scrubbing experience.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Circulate and scrub General OR cases including Surgical Oncology, Colorectal, MIS (DaVinci), Plastics, Endocrine, Panc/Bili, and Bariatrics
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, Monday-Friday, 6:30am-7:00pm
• On-call requirement of 4-6 shifts per 4 weeks, including possible holiday call
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand at start of contract
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Charting system experience required
• Radiation badge required
• Social Security Number and Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Circulate and scrub general surgery cases across multiple specialties
• Community hospital experience required for consideration
• First-time travelers considered only with 5+ years of experience
• Previous MUSC perm staff (including PRN) must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
• Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application, with approvals based on department needs
• During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response duties
