Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring Epic experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Night shift 3x12, Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 18:30-07:00
• Floating, weekends, and holidays required
• No call requirements
• General OR and trauma work settings

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in administration of blood and blood products, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (time out) procedures, and wound management
• Experience with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic-assisted procedures, and thyroidectomy
• Experience with orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy, closed and open fracture reductions, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, and total joint replacement
• Experience with urology procedures including cystoscopy, laparoscopic-assisted cases, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP
• Familiarity with cell saver equipment
• Knowledge of emergency management and fire safety protocols
• State-issued ID required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across general, orthopedic, and urology surgical cases
• Support trauma cases within the OR setting
• Candidates living within 90 miles are considered local and accepted at a lower bill rate
• RTO limited to no more than 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request approved during the Nov-Jan holiday season
• All RTO must be approved by management prior to contract signing
• Military-issued certifications accepted; AHA certifications preferred; ARC certifications not accepted
• First-time travelers not considered for this role
