Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit setting
• 13-week assignment with day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30)
• Variable schedule may be required, including weekends and holidays
• On-call requirement of one shift per pay period
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, FHM, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and high-risk delivery support
• Experience with vaginal and C-section delivery assistance, including circulating and scrubbing roles
• Skilled in antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care procedures
• State-issued ID required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
• Support high-risk antepartum and delivery cases as needed
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives per protocol
• Perform fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• Assist with surgical procedures such as C-sections, cervical cerclage, and tubal ligation
• Provide postpartum care including hemorrhage management and wound assessment
• Scrubs provided
• Holiday coverage required during assigned holiday periods
• RTO limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request allowed during Nov-Jan season, subject to management approval
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates within 90 miles accepted at a lower rate
