Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a practice nurse role at a Level I Trauma academic medical center, requiring ONS certification and prior oncology clinic experience.

Details

• Practice nurse role within an outpatient oncology clinic setting - no infusion administration involved
• Cares for oncology patients before, during, and after treatment, including pre-op, post-op, and follow-up visits
• Responsibilities include telephone triage, inbasket management, and assisting providers during clinic visits
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• May float between specialties within scope as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CT RN license or compact license required prior to start date
• BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC certification required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Practice nurse and ambulatory care experience required
• Phone triage experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma Center or large academic medical center experience required
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Located at a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with 1,567 staffed beds
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• RTO requests up to 7 days can be auto-approved; longer requests require additional approval
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former staff must have separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
