Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU / Telemetry (Tele)
Location
Tucson, AZ | Progressive Care / Stepdown (Float Pool – Multiple Facilities)
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Days – 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Expected 36 hours/week | 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate assigned patients and plan, implement, and document individualized nursing care in a PCU/Telemetry stepdown setting
- Administer medications and perform patient tests within the registered nurse scope of practice, including management of cardiac drips
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures; maintain familiarity with TAVR and Watchman mitral clip patients at a minimum
- Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care skills
- Float between multiple facilities as required — this is a Float Pool position; must be willing to float between departments across assigned facilities in the Tucson area
- Document all care accurately using Cerner EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Arizona RN License required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU/Telemetry or Stepdown RN experience
- Ability and willingness to float between departments and multiple facilities
- Comfortable managing a patient ratio of 6:1
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience in a stepdown or intermediate care unit (IMC/PCU) with ICU-adjacent acuity
- Familiarity with cardiac drip management, TAVR procedures, and Watchman mitral clip cases
