Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Medical-Surgical Telemetry boarder patients housed within the Emergency Department while awaiting inpatient bed placement
- Manage a patient population averaging approximately 40 boarding patients per day at a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1
- Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms; Day 1 telemetry testing is required and must be passed within 2 attempts during compliance/onboarding
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate safe and timely transitions from the ED to inpatient units
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts (MA) Registered Nurse license required
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma center required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Prior experience caring for boarder patients in an Emergency Department setting required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong background in Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing in a high-acuity environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage high patient volumes and prioritize care effectively
- Experience working in fast-paced Emergency Department or boarding unit settings
