Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Advanced assessment and critical thinking skills, management of vasoactive drips Description: 48 hours guaranteed preferred. Unit specifics include 36 beds with patient ratios of 1:3 during AM, 1:4 during PM or 1:4 during AM, and 1:5 during PM with the presence of patient care techs. Typically, total RN-based care with no techs. Secretaries are scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM and are available for various resources. Type of equipment includes BiPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps. Documentation system is Meditech. Scheduling requirements for full-time staff involve 36 hours per week with every third weekend rotation. Part-time staff work 48 hours per week with every third weekend rotation. PRN staff have different shift requirements based on staffing needs. A rotating holiday schedule is in place. PRN floats occur once per week, while full-time and part-time staff float based on scheduling. Emphasis on patient experience includes bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center with stroke and STEMI accreditation. Central line or PICC line placement is commonly performed on this unit. A positive attitude and a desire to work collaboratively as a team member are essential. Dress code consists of charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms. General information about unit guidelines and policies is available. Recognition includes being honored as a Unit of Distinction in 2018. New cardiac monitors are available to allow visual monitoring of cardiac rhythm in each room.
