Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Advanced assessment and critical thinking skills - Management of vasoactive drips - Central Line or PICC line placement - Chest tube placements Description: This position offers 48 hours guaranteed. The unit consists of 36 beds with patient ratios of 1:3 during the day, 1:4 in the afternoon, and 1:5 at night. Typically, RN-based care is provided with no techs unless additional support is needed. Secretarial support is available from 7 AM to 7 PM. Equipment used includes BiPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps. Documentation is conducted using a specified system. Full-time staff are required to work 36 hours per week with a weekend rotation every third week. Part-time staff work 48 hours per week with a similar weekend rotation. PRN staff have a shift requirement based on schedules outlined. Floating policies apply based on needs, with a rotation in place. Patient experience is prioritized, including bedside shift reporting, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds. The facility holds certifications for trauma and stroke centers and has a recognized bariatric program. The atmosphere encourages a positive attitude and teamwork. Dress code consists of specified uniform colors for tops and bottoms, with options for jackets. Unit standards of care policies are in place and available for review. The unit has received recognition for excellence in service.
