Job Summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH), a nationally acclaimed non-profit health system in Carbondale, Illinois, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in their Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The PCU provides comprehensive care for a diverse patient population with fluctuating acuity, primarily focusing on cardiac and respiratory conditions. Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients comprehensively to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their responsible persons regarding care and treatment.
  • Utilize strong nursing clinical judgment to recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition.
  • Contribute to a positive and healthy workplace environment by employing professional communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ensure compliance with Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
  • Actively participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records for all patients.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Telemetry setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Shift Details
