Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 6 months of neuro experience required License: Valid Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - BiPAP/CPAP management - Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac - Craniotomy - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Management of dysrhythmias - Neuro Stepdown experience - Pre/Post neurosurgery experience - Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring - Spinal cord injury management - Telemetry - Traumatic Brain Injury experience Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in telemetry. The nurse will be expected to float between units as needed. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Expected patient ratios are 1:5. Candidates must have experience with the NIH stroke scale and be proficient in managing neurologic diagnoses. This is a designated stroke unit that is thrombectomy capable. The facility has a JCAHO designation as a Spine Center of Excellence and as a Level 3 Epilepsy Center. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Providers will be responsible for submitting any work-related cell phone bills. Candidates should not reach out to facility contacts directly unless for an agreed-upon interview. References are required covering a year of experience within the last three years. Previous charge experience is preferred. The charting system used is Epic. This position involves caring for neuroscience patients with various diagnoses and procedures.
