Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU/Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Valid Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac drip experience, including titration and management Description: PCU/Stepdown RN positions available for qualified candidates. Candidates may choose one holiday, either Thanksgiving or Christmas, but cannot have both. Stepdown or PCU nurses are needed with cardiac drip experience, which is a hard requirement. Facility is a Short Term Acute Care and Level II Trauma Center. The total number of staffed beds is 629. This is a teaching hospital environment. Scrub colors for all nursing staff are flexible. Charting is done through an electronic system. There is no fee for parking. The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Daily responsibilities include managing and monitoring patients with cardiovascular conditions. Additional duties may involve administering medications, including IVs and blood products. The ideal candidate will have skills in cardiac telemetry, central line care, and management of various medical devices. An interdisciplinary support team is available, including respiratory services and pharmacy. The RN will be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care and effective communication with the healthcare team. Compliance with patient ratios and facility protocols is required. Candidates must be prepared to float to other units as needed. This position may require weekend coverage, with alternating schedules in place. References covering the past year are needed.
