Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Shift: Nights 7 PM - 7 AM

Start: ASAP

Overview:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care specific to the needs of the assigned patient population. This role ensures that quality care is provided efficiently and safely, in alignment with unit standards. The Registered Nurse demonstrates effective work habits and clinical practices while treating colleagues, patients, and families with respect and consideration.

Responsibilities:

• Meet the expectations of applicable competencies, including maintaining personal leadership and supporting others.
• Perform initial assessments to prioritize patient care using appropriate clinical judgment.
• Continuously monitor patients to identify progress and any necessary interventions.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to patient needs within established time frames.
• Make informed nursing decisions through careful evaluation of patient outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Engage patients and their families in health education and discharge planning.
• Carry out and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan.
• Conduct various Point of Care testing procedures.

Qualifications:

Education and Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current knowledge and skills relevant to the care of the assigned patient population.
• Awareness and sensitivity to patients' rights in care delivery.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, tailored to the developmental age of patients.

Experience:

• Newly hired nurses with two or fewer years of experience will start at a CN I status.
• Consideration for a higher clinical ladder level may be given based on relevant experience, nursing certification, and additional educational qualifications.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Current New Mexico RN license or Compact state license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Work Schedule:

Full-Time; Nights 7 PM - 7 AM
