Must-Have:
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Patient ratio experience: 1:5, up to 6 with lower acuity
- Charting system experience preferred
Description:
Traveler may request one of the three major holidays.
36 or 48-hour options accepted.
Every other weekend required.
Weekends consist of 4 weekends in a 4-week schedule cycle.
Holidays are required as they fall, as scheduled.
Floating is required within the specialty and to lower acuity as needed.
On-call is not required.
Daily census includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, and pharmacy.
Patient diagnoses include cardiac dysrhythmias, acute coronary syndrome, congestive heart failure, respiratory failure, pneumonia, and stroke.
Special skills required include:
- Accessing and managing ports
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Blood product administration
- Cardiac telemetry
- Central line care and management
- Chest tube care and management
- Interpretation of arterial blood gases
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Pre/Post cardiac catheterization management
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Wound care/wound vac management.
Travelers are required to be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions or special requests.
This position is suitable for nurses with travel experience and those who meet certification and licensing requirements.
