Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact license
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred at hire but must be obtained within 6 months of hire
• NIH Stroke certification preferred
• Experience in acute care, telemetry nursing, or stepdown nursing strongly preferred
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam
• Comfort caring for cardiac patients and titrating drips when appropriate
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered care using the nursing process
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition with confidence
• Administer medications and manage Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin drips as indicated
• Care for patients with chest pain, CHF exacerbations, pre/post cardiac cath needs, and medical telemetry diagnoses
• Collaborate with physicians, PCTs, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support optimal outcomes
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and self-care needs
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional clinical environment
