Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submission. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Traveler experience required unless the traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. - Skills in cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, sheath removal, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, management of cardiac drips (no titration), chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management. Description: RTO (Request Time Off) after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in a cancellation and DNR (Do Not Return). Ratios vary per acuity, with 1:4 for surgical step down and 1:5-6 for lower acuity. Target patient diagnoses include atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, aortic stenosis/regurgitation, mitral regurgitation/stenosis, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, PVD, PAD, vasculitis, carotid stenosis, and venous stasis. Special procedures include CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, mitral clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, amputations, other vascular surgeries, cardiac surgeries, thoracic surgeries, post-cath, post-DCCV, post-electrophysiology procedures, and pacemaker placements. The unit utilizes Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication management, documentation, and communication. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event or mass casualty. Candidates must be open to floating within/near the facility as described in the job description.
