Description:
The registered nurse will provide care in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting.
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias are required.
The nurse will perform remote telemetry monitoring.
Knowledge of rapid response and code teams is essential.
Experience in bowel obstruction management and colostomy/ileostomy care is needed.
The role includes feeding tube care and management.
Pre/Post hemodialysis management and renal failure knowledge are important.
Blood product administration and central line blood draw are required skills.
The nurse must manage peripheral lines and perform phlebotomy.
PICC line management is also necessary.
Starting and maintaining IVs, including administering heparin and insulin, will be part of the duties.
Experience with patient-controlled analgesia and chest tube management is expected.
BiPAP/CPAP management and high-flow nasal cannula usage are required.
Knowledge of nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management is important.
Oral suctioning and oxygen administration will be performed as needed.
Understanding of isolation precautions and wound care is necessary.
The unit's patient diagnoses include diabetes, dementia, COVID-19, pneumonia, and COPD.
Additional conditions treated include sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, and hip fractures.
Knowledge and experience with chronic heart failure, urinary tract infections, and various surgical recovery cases are essential.
Experience with renal failure, hypertension, cellulitis, and failure to thrive is also needed.
The nurse will be expected to float to other units as necessary.
Candidates must be open to working during catastrophic events.
Availability for every other weekend is required.
The nurse will work with a staffing ratio of 1:6.
The primary software systems used include Pyxis for medication management.
Experience with electronic charting is preferred.
Candidates must be able to work holidays and have a maximum of 7 days of requested time off.
All required skills and certifications must be validated prior to employment.
