Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks or Longer Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - IV start experience and telemetry - Experience with pre and post procedure cardiac patients - Comfort managing cardiac drips - Ability to care for patients with stable O2 saturation on pulse oximetry - Familiarity with various telemetry equipment Description: This position is for a telemetry nurse primarily caring for cardiac and stroke patients. The unit provides stable pre/post care for pacemaker implantation and cardiac interventions. Nurses will manage multiple cardiac drips, including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone. The expected patient ratio is 1:5-6, with fluctuations based on unit needs. Participants must be accustomed to a fast-paced environment with the ability to turn over patient assignments frequently. The unit accommodates COVID-positive patients and utilizes opti-flow and BIPAP when necessary. Nurses will be required to float within the facility based on patient census. Weekend shifts and call requirements are part of the role, with every other weekend and a combination of Mondays and Fridays required within a six-week schedule. All applicants should demonstrate proficiency in managing dysrhythmias and cardiac protocols. The work entails comprehensive teamwork and collaboration with interdisciplinary support staff, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates should be prepared to assist with admissions and discharges efficiently. Travelers with previous experience are preferred, but first-time travelers are also considered. All necessary protocols and isolation precautions must be adhered to in this high-level telemetry setting.
