Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Overview

The Telemetry unit is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care to adult and geriatric patients. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring and managing patients with a variety of cardiac and vascular conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Myocardial Infarction (MI), Dysrhythmias, Sepsis, and other related conditions.
• Manage pre- and post-cardiac catheterization patients, ensuring optimal recovery and monitoring for complications.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring to assess vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective patient care and discharge planning.
• Document patient progress and treatment plans using Epic and other healthcare software.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment while adhering to all safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a telemetry or cardiac care setting; first-time travelers are accepted.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; NIH certification is preferred.
• Experience with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication is essential.
• Ability to float within the facility and scope of practice as needed.

Work Environment

The position is in a telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5. The unit has 36 rooms, with an average daily census of 35 patients. The shift schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts per week.

Additional Information

• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Requested time off (RTO) is limited to a maximum of 7 days. Blackout dates are in place during Spring Break (April 4th-12th).
• Regular weekend shifts are required, with every other weekend expected unless otherwise specified.
• Holiday work is expected, with the requirement to work one or more major holidays during the assignment period.

Full compliance with credentialing requirements is necessary to ensure a timely start date. Candidates will undergo a clinical screening process to ensure a good fit for the role.
