ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our medical-surgical intensive care unit. This position involves providing high-quality care for adult to geriatric patients with a diverse range of critical medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing severe medical conditions such as Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, and more.
• Employ advanced skills in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), and post-operative care
• Perform procedures including but not limited to chest tube insertions, lumbar punctures, and central line maintenance.
• Manage patient care through continuous IV infusions of medications including pressors, paralytics, and sedatives.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, adhering to all protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an ICU setting; first-time candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Proficiency in using Epic electronic health record system is required.

Work Environment

The ICU unit features a 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratio with a maximum capacity of 15 beds. The environment requires a high level of collaboration and adaptability, as floating within the facility is expected as needed.

Shift and Scheduling

• Night shifts, working 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00).
• Must be available for every other weekend unless otherwise specified.
• Employees are expected to work major holidays as outlined in the job requirements.

Compliance Requirements

Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to ensure timely start dates. Orientation schedules are bi-weekly, and any compliance delays may result in a two-week postponement.

Additional Information

• Requested time off is limited to a maximum of 7 days, with specific blackout periods during spring break.
• Local candidates may apply and will receive the same rate as travel candidates.
• Non-billable orientation hours vary based on contract length.
