First-time travelers are accepted. Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. Unit diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT/vascular issues. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4-5. There are 16 rooms in the unit. Familiarity with electronic health records is required. Experience with Pyxis and SBAR communication is preferred. Scrub color is navy blue. Full compliance is required to start on time. If compliance is not met, onboarding may be delayed. Candidates will undergo a clinical screening to determine fit for the role. Local candidates are accepted. No call requirements exist for this position. Candidates are expected to work one major holiday if it falls within their assignment period. If three major holidays fall during their assignment, candidates are expected to work two of the holidays. Compliance with required vaccinations is mandatory. Skills include the management of various cardiac and respiratory conditions. Capable of performing and interpreting dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases. Ability to handle central line care, chest tubes, feeding tube care, and other critical nursing tasks is essential.
