Experience with medical/surgical/remote telemetry patients. Familiarity with Epic charting system. Description: Minimum experience required is one year. First-timers are accepted. Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS). Candidates should possess general skills in medical/surgical practices and remote telemetry. Common diagnoses include diabetes, post-operative care, wound vacs, and bariatrics. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:5 to 1:6. Unit has 33 beds with an average daily census of 28. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Nurses will demonstrate skills in blood product administration, chest tube management, and feeding tube care. Telemonitoring and post-hemodialysis management experience are also required. Wound care and management of surgical drains are part of daily responsibilities. Floating may be required within scope of practice as needed. Call requirements include every other weekend and holidays as needed. Travelers must comply fully to start on time. If non-compliant, the start date may be pushed back by two weeks due to scheduling needs. Holiday coverage expectations are outlined for major holidays. No schedule requests can be made post-offer or during orientation week. All requests for time off must be finalized at the time of submission. Compliance documents must be submitted promptly as directed. Interdisciplinary support includes pharmacy and social services among others.
