License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: Required ACLS and BLS Must-Have: Experience in vaso-active drips, central lines, PA catheters, external ventricular drains, flap monitoring, arterial lines, and wound care. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The unit treats patients from various surgical specialties. Candidates should have experience managing vaso-active drips and central lines. Experience with external ventricular drains and flap monitoring is essential. Registered Nurses will care for patients following neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, general surgery, orthopedic procedures, and transplants. The role requires floating to other ICU units within the facility as necessary. Weekend work is required; travelers are expected to work a maximum of four weekend shifts in a four-week schedule period. This is a critical care unit with a daily census of around 16 patients. The patient population primarily consists of adults and geriatric patients. The Registered Nurse will work as part of an interdisciplinary team. Travelers may also float to acute care units, PACU, or emergency departments for boarding inpatient ICU or acute care level patients as needed. The work environment emphasizes collaboration and patient care excellence. Experience in charting systems such as Epic is required. Candidates should be prepared for a variety of patient care scenarios and nursing tasks. The position offers opportunities to enhance skills in intensive care nursing.
