TravelNurseSource is working with Revolution Healthcare Services to find a qualified Stepdown RN in Charleston, West Virginia, 25301!

Job Opportunity – Trauma Stepdown (IMC/PCU) Registered Nurse – West Virginia

Start Date: October 15, 2026

Location: West Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 36 or 48 hours per week (3x12 or 4x12), weekdays with every other weekend required. Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs. Blocked schedule requests can be accommodated.

Highlights:

  • Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital with 37-bed unit comprising 25 floor beds, 6 stepdown beds, and 6 pediatric beds
  • Multidisciplinary team approach caring for multi-system trauma patients and surgical patients in an intermediate care environment
  • Patient ratios: 1:5 for floor beds, 1:3 for stepdown unit; travelers typically assigned to adult patient population
  • Cerner charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and physical therapy
  • 36 hours guaranteed per week with orientation held every other Thursday
  • Free parking and royal blue/white scrubs provided for RN staff

Requirements:

  • Current West Virginia or Compact RN License (pending license accepted for submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; minimum 1 year in-specialty experience (PCU, IMC, Trauma, or Stepdown)
  • First-time travelers accepted if experienced in ICU or Trauma
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association), fit test, and CPI required; TNCC preferred
  • Core clinical skills including IV start, ventilator management, telemetry, Level 1 Trauma experience, and conscious sedation
  • Experience with blood product administration, central line management, chest tubes, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and wound care/wound vac
  • Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption provided
  • Permanent address must be 100+ miles from facility (75-99 miles considered case-by-case)
