Travel HVTI Stepdown RN

Facility: Cleveland Clinic Main Campus Hospital
Unit: HVTI – Stepdown
Shift: Rotating Days/Nights

• Days: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Nights: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• 3x12-hour shifts
  Contract: 91 weeks
  Locals: Accepted at same bill rate

Position Overview

This is an HVTI Stepdown RN position at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. The traveler must be comfortable caring for the same patient population if floated to other designated units.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of permanent experience in the specialty applying for
• Experience can be combined from different permanent positions
• Permanent Ohio RN license or Compact license must be in hand at submission
• BLS – AHA or American Red Cross
• ACLS – AHA or American Red Cross
• NIHSS – AHA or American Red Cross
• All certifications must be active and in hand at submission
• No pending certifications accepted

Floating

Potential to float to:

• J1-2
• J33
• ED

Floating will be to care for the same patient population.

Schedule

• Facility will try to honor the traveler's preferred shift.
• However, rotating between days and nights may be required based on operational needs.
• Traveler must work at least every other holiday.
• RTO must be discussed during the interview and included at submission.
• Travelers may only be submitted to one Cleveland Clinic job at a time.

Orientation & Testing

During orientation, the traveler must complete:

• ECG rhythm recognition test
• SafeMedicate assessment

An acceptable score is required on both.

• Maximum 2 attempts
• Failure to pass within 2 attempts can result in cancellation
• PBDS assessment is waived

References

1 professional reference is required:

• Manager
• ANM
• Supervisor
• Director

Reference must be from the same specialty and an assignment worked within the past 12 months.

Coworker references are not accepted.

Vaccination

• COVID vaccine: Required; medical/religious exemptions accepted
• Flu vaccine: Required; medical/religious exemptions accepted

Important Compliance

• Standard Qualivis cover sheet required
• BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Facility will not accept travelers with an open background case
• Facility does not accept license hits
• Nurses and CSTs are currently exempt from the nicotine-free requirement
• Permanent/per diem Cleveland Clinic employees must wait 1 year from their previous end date before returning as a traveler
• Education must meet the facility's applicable requirements

Modules

• Average 6–15 hours
• Completed before start and annually
• First 4 hours are billable
• Additional pre-start module time is non-billable
• Modules are completed through Silkroad

Extension

Travelers may extend for up to 18 months. After that, a 6-month break is normally required, although the facility may defer the break case-by-case.

Best candidate: Stepdown/tele RN with at least 1 year of permanent specialty experience, active Ohio/Compact license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, strong ECG rhythm recognition, and flexibility to rotate between day/night shifts and float to designated Cleveland Clinic units.
