Key Responsibilities of the Step-Down RN

• Post-heart cath care and TR band management
• Monitoring post-vascular procedures
• Frequent vital signs and neurovascular checks
• Management of cardiac dysrhythmias and cardiac drip titration
• Respiratory management including BiPAP/CPAP
• Emergency and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• IV start and maintenance, including PICC line management
• Blood product administration
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions

Requirements of the Step-Down RN

• 2+ years of recent Step-Down experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Phlebotomy skills
• Charting system experience: Allscripts
