Description:
Step Down RN position available.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of recent Step Down experience.
The position guarantees 36 hours per week.
Weekends are expected as part of the schedule.
Patient ratio for this unit is 1:4-5.
The patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, post-heart catheterization, and respiratory failure.
The nurse will be responsible for monitoring vital signs and conducting neurovascular checks.
Key unit procedures include post-heart catheter care and managing TR bands.
Candidates should have skills in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
Experience with IV start and maintenance and blood product administration is required.
Additional responsibilities include medication management, procedural sedation administration, and cardiac drip titration.
Infection prevention techniques and adherence to isolation precautions are essential.
Phlebotomy skills are also necessary.
Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
Candidates must be willing to work as part of a team to ensure optimal patient care.
