Compensation & Schedule Details

• Hours & Shift: 36 guaranteed hours per week (12-hour Nights, 1830–0700). 48-hour contracts available upon request (OT goes into effect after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts). Bi-weekly orientation starting November 2, 2026.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks.
• Weekend & Holiday Requirements: 3 weekends out of every 6-week schedule; every other holiday.
• Distance & Attendance Rules: Strict 40-mile radius rule (no local candidates). Maximum of 3 call-ins permitted before termination. Headshot required for badge during compliance.

Key Facility Policies & Floating Rules

• Cross-Campus Floating: First to float within skillset. May float to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles away) or Deaconess Henderson (KY) campus (11 miles away) with a 2-hour notice.
• Unit Scope & Ratios: 22-bed Stepdown unit with exceptional retention and low turnover. Night shift ratios are 1:3–4 (Charge nurse takes up to 2 patients). Charting via Epic (requires check-off class). Teaching facility—may require precepting of students and new hires. Navy blue scrubs required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience, 1 full year of stepdown experience, 1 prior travel assignment, and Level II trauma experience required.
• Clinical Skills: Required to pass telemetry/12-lead EKG test. Must manage post-heart cath care (femoral/TR bands), initiate and titrate drips (cardizem, amio, cardene, nitro, insulin, heparin), perform NIHSS/dysphagia screenings, and manage chest tubes and CPAP/Optiflow.
• Licensure: Active compact RN license in hand.
• Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS required at submittal.
