Psych Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position is for a Psych Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in adolescent care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to adolescents with various mental health conditions. Experience in a similar setting is required.

Shift Information

  • Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
  • Weekend Hours: Yes

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adolescents with mental health disorders.
  • Utilize de-escalation skills to manage acute situations effectively.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patient behavior and mental health status; document observations and interventions.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-stress environments.

Qualifications

  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in psychiatric nursing with a focus on adolescents.
  • Must Have Skills: Proficient in de-escalation techniques and experience with acute mental health issues.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience in handling thought disorders, psychotic behaviors, personality disorders, and manic episodes.

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 6-bed unit
  • Patient Ratios: 3:5

Dress Code

  • Dress is business casual.
  • Acceptable attire includes professional dress. Unacceptable attire includes ripped jeans, shorts, t-shirts or sweatshirts with logos, and open-toed shoes.
