Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of assigned patients, initiating data collection and assessment upon admission.
• Contribute to the development of individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Implement nursing interventions, medical orders, and related therapies as necessary.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to educate patients and their support systems.
• Analyze and modify care strategies to ensure progression through the patient's plan of care.
• Document patient records accurately to reflect care provided and patient's responses in line with professional standards.
• Monitor equipment and perform routine and complex treatments, including medication administration and emergency protocols.
• Comply with mandatory reporting, legal consent, transfer protocols, and other requirements to uphold patient rights and ensure appropriate care.
• Provide a clean, safe, and secure environment for patients by following established safety policies and procedures.
• Intervene therapeutically with patients displaying behavioral patterns related to mental illness, personality disorders, substance abuse, or developmental disabilities.
• Demonstrate competence in safely handling hazardous drugs when required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse is required.
• Current BLS certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of the start date.
• One year of recent RN experience is required.
• Automatic advancement from RN I level is possible if all onboarding requirements, including the New Grad Residency (when available), are completed.
