Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current Illinois Registered Nurse license Certifications: Current CPR/BLS Card, ACLS Must-Have: Experience with cardiac and respiratory patients Description: The ratio is 4:1 on Progressive Care Unit patients. Every other weekend and holidays are required. There are no on-call requirements, but overtime is available for those who want it. Block schedules cannot be guaranteed, but the preference will be accommodated as much as possible. Acuity fluctuates, with a wide variety of cardiac and respiratory patients being seen. The culture in the department is supportive and collaborative. Management can be contacted easily for any needs and is visible to night shift staff at least twice per week. All accomplishments are a direct result of the superb efforts and dedication of the staff. Responsibilities include assessing patients to determine their mental, physical, and spiritual needs. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Explanations and instructions will be provided to patients or responsible persons. Clinical judgment must be demonstrated to recognize and report changes in patient conditions. Contribution to a healthy workplace environment includes managing conflict using professional communication skills. Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care must be met. Participation in continuing education is required. Complete and accurate medical records must be maintained.
