Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current Illinois Registered Nurse license Certifications: Current CPR/BLS Card, ACLS Must-Have: Experience in a cardiac and respiratory patient setting Description: The patient ratio is 4:1 on the Progressive Care Unit. Every other weekend and holidays are required. Shift hours are from 1900 to 0730. There are no on-call requirements, but overtime is available for those interested. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, but we will attempt to accommodate preferred schedules. Acuity levels fluctuate, and a variety of cardiac and respiratory patients are seen. We foster a supportive and collaborative culture within the department. The manager is easy to contact and is visible to night shift staff at least twice per week. We emphasize professional development and growth opportunities for our employees. An environment of excellence in patient care is a priority. Our accomplishments stem from the dedication and efforts of our employees. Responsibilities include assessing patients' mental, physical, and spiritual needs. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. Providing explanations and instructions to patients or responsible persons is essential. You must demonstrate the ability to use clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient conditions. Contributing to a healthy workplace environment by managing conflict using professional communication skills is expected. Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care must be met. Participation in continuing education is required. Maintaining complete and accurate medical records is essential.
