Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty License: RN license (state requirements apply) Certifications: BLS & ACLS Must-Have: - Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required - Vent and transplant experience required - Ability to pass a telemetry test prior to starting Description: The Registered Nurse will work in both the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and the IMC Thoracic unit. The position requires working evening and night shifts, specifically from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The schedule includes Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. The nurse will care for acutely ill surgical and trauma patients in a fast-paced environment. They will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with multiple comorbidities and various medical diagnoses. Key populations include patients with conditions such as cystic fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension. This role demands critical thinking and teamwork. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advocate for quality patient care. Travelers must have experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or a facility of similar size. Passing a telemetry exam is required before starting. The unit's patient ratio is approximately 1:4 for general care and 1:2 for IMC. Floating may be required to meet unit needs. Patients cared for are typically adults with hemodynamic instability. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialty teams providing additional care. Candidates should possess skills related to advanced patient care management and telemetry interpretation.
