Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Alaska

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 Night Shift, 13-week assignment, guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period

Highlights:
  • Progressive Care Unit serving as a stepdown from ICU with diverse patient populations across multiple specialties
  • Innovative Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model providing collaborative support for every patient (bedside RN, virtual RN, and CNA team)
  • 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • 30% cardiac patient population including CHF, MI, post-TAVR, pacemakers, arrhythmias, and ACS patients
  • Epic charting system in a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility recognized as the best hospital in Alaska
  • Exposure to respiratory cases, neuro overflow, renal patients, and complex medical-surgical cases requiring higher-level monitoring
Requirements:
  • Alaska RN license (pending licenses accepted but must be able to complete application within 48 hours of signing; license must be in hand for automatic offer)
  • Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit, Stepdown, or ICU experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Experience with 1:4 patient ratios
  • Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, high-flow nasal cannula, and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Ability to float to lower acuity units including renal care, neuro, and medical-surgical as needed
  • Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
