The Registered Nurse focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are prioritized. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. Personal development is encouraged, with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. Supervision of licensed and non-licensed staff members is required. The RN applies the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. Responsibilities include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Focus is on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN utilizes educational and professional experience in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff is an essential function. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development and Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaboration with the patient and family, as well as interdisciplinary services, is essential. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patients. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Education is appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Encourages and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in a governance model.
