Description:

The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care.
The RN is responsible for customer satisfaction and quality outcomes.
The RN assists in maintaining a financially stable unit.

The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members.
Using the caring processes, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care.
The RN emphasizes patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction.
The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care.
The RN mentors and precepts staff.
Job Responsibilities:
Assessment:
Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition.
Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions.
Development & Implementation:
Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care.
Reviews and revises the plan as indicated.
Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services.
Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and the patient and family.
Evaluation:
Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.
Education:
Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs.
Focuses on care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge.
Leadership:
Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
Functions as a mentor and preceptor.
Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork.
Identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement.
Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts.
Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards.
Participates in the Practice Governance model.
