Description:
The Step Down unit requires registered nurses to provide care for patients transitioning from intensive care.
The patient-to-nurse ratio will be 1:4.
Weekend shifts are required, with a commitment of two shifts every other weekend.
Travelers must float to lower acuity floors as needed.
Nurses should have experience in high-acuity settings and will be responsible for monitoring and managing complex patient needs.
The unit supports a variety of interdisciplinary services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
Candidates must have experience with arterial line management, cardiac telemetry, management of ventilated patients, and chest tube care.
Skills in managing medications and understanding cardiac drips are required.
The environment is dynamic and requires the ability to handle multiple patient needs effectively.
All applicants should be equipped to manage high acuity patient care and be prepared to support rapid response situations.
Familiarity with electronic health records is preferred.
